Approximately 24 hours ago I was inside PRCS, sitting in the hall, listening to James Ong talk. Woah so I have missed how he talked. More accurately, I have missed how I got irritated at how he talked. That's my ex-principal for you. But unlike the secondary school days where we all sat on the hall floor and listened to him go on and on about school stuff, I was sitting on a chair, with tables draped with tablecloth, and food soon to be served. It was much more comfortable like that, and of course it had to be, it was 38 dollars. And I'm talking about the PRCS 10th anniversary gala. All the familiar (and not familiar) faces!
Yea my secondary school is quite young.
So, like all once in a blue moon visits to your alma mater, wave after waves of nostalgia hit me everywhere. Everything was so familiar! I've always liked how the buildings are named "Allegro, Bravura, Crescendo, Dolce, Energico, Forte" for building A to F. Okay maybe not everything. The walls of the school are now like vandalised with so many words (all those "inspirational quotes", probably found by James Ong. He's really leaving his mark in the school), the school's mission and vision has been changed, and there are murals in the toilets but what's there is still there! It was really a "I still remember..." moment.
The video montage of all the old photos of the days in PRCS brought back some memories, but much because some photos were too old, some too new, which indicates how many years have I since graduated from PRCS. Eh actually it's only around 2 years, going 3. Not too long! But long enough for too many new faces to be around. Well, the future of PRCS depends on them! I'm glad to have graduated already. And I'm glad to have attended the event!
But aww Nancy Ng, had to go be some traffic marshal for the event nearing the end. Is it cos there were too little 4/7 people (only 4 lor. Raheel "too shagged to go" not counted) who went and nobody else went to talk to her :( We had to find her since she had been such a classic character during our secondary school life.
"Slap yourself!"
"Knock yourself on the head!"
"Keep your eyes within the boundaries of your table!" (when we were having tests)
"Stand up and keep your mouth open!" (for talking during class)
"Waste my saliva!"
OH MANNN. At least we did talk a little first before the event started. She still looks and talks the same. Stay in PRCS Nancy!! And ride your skatescooter!
Everyone should visit their secondary school! But do it rarely, so the reminiscence feeling is there haha.
